WE HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT

Since Biden has taken over the Oval Office, he has decided to enact several new laws and eliminate existing laws which he finds inconvenient. He is doing this without Congressional action. This is all being done by "Executive" orders.

 

Because of money pouring into his campaign coffers, he cancelled the Keystone pipeline project. Thereby eliminating at least 11,000 jobs. Contrary to what has been reported, this has nothing to do with the environment or global warming. This is a political gift to the railroads. The money I mentioned comes from the railroad companies who will now bring this oil down from Canada on rail instead of in a pipeline. Much riskier and less safe with far more possibilities of problems. But the railroads are happy. 

 

Then he signed an executive order designed to destroy women's sports. Absolutely the dumbest act of his presidency so far. The order allows transexual women/men to compete in biological women's athletic events. This shouldn't come as a surprise to you, but biological males, regardless of how they see themselves, will probably win any race with a biological female. It wouldn't be a fair contest. One of the strangest parts of this new order is that these transgendered females/males would also share the showers with biological females. Hmmm. I was a teenage boy once and I know how my brain functioned. What could possibly go wrong with this setup? If I was the father of a young female athlete, there is no way I would allow her to be involved with athletics today. Boys race against boys and girls race against girls and they do not shower together. Is it possible that the "progressives" don't know there are biological differences between boys and girls? Do they not understand each gender has their own roles in nature and regardless of their wishes, there are only two genders? Sorry. 

 

What more could this new president do to top the nonsense he has already started? Well hang onto your hat, he is opening up our southern border to anyone and everyone who wants to come to America. There is no requirement that they be healthy, educated, have a clear criminal history, have a job or any prospect of a job, or be vetted in anyway. All they have to do is just show up. 

 

What do you suppose will be the result of this new order when the news of it gets to Central and South America? How about Africa and Asia? There are people all over the world who believe money falls off of trees here. They believe the government will take care of them for their entire lives.  

 

In my life I have known several individuals from Hispanic countries. I liked all of them. They are indeed hard working people. They are family oriented. For the most part they are religious. Properly vetted and legally entered, most would be outstanding citizens. Unvetted illegals are a crapshoot. It has to be done legally.

 

Elections have consequences for a certainty. Surely most of the people who voted for Biden did not expect him to set about destroying our country the way he has started. Hopefully we can restrain the liberals until the next election. 

 

Prepare yourself before our next election and remember what this one is causing. We absolutely have to get it right.

WELL DUH

 

WELL DUH   

 

So, Trump is found not guilty. Well duh, who didn't know that? Who didn't expect that? Seven so-called Republicans decided to vote with the Democrats. Does anybody believe they actually thought Trump was guilty of any crime? It is my sincere hope these clowns are put out to pasture in their next election. Every Senate Democrat voted to convict. Only seven Republicans crossed over. That should tell you that the Democrats are disciplined and do what they are told, legal, ethical or not and the Republicans are not so disciplined.

 

This was the second failed attempt to impeach President Trump. They, the Democrats, because they used phony charges in both cases, failed miserably and looked again more like partisan, punk, politicians than representatives of the people. As I pointed out in previous columns these impeachment accusations were never because of actual crimes. They were pursued because the Democrats and a handful of "rinos” are scared of Trump and his influence on the American people. Perhaps they have good reasons to be afraid. Because guess what. That influence has only grown in light of this latest fiasco. 

 

How much money has been wasted on these silly exercises? How much valuable time has been flittered away? Let's face it. The American people have been ignored in favor of political dirty tricks, gamesmanship, and television drama. Our Congress is hired to do the country's business. Not monkey business. 

 

So, what is next? The only purpose of the impeachment trial was an attempt to disqualify Trump from ever running again. It didn't work. 

 

As for me, I hope he doesn't run again. As much as the country needs someone like him, he has earned his rest. He should retire to his billionaire lifestyle and let someone else deal with the morons who are trying to destroy this country.

 

There are growing calls for a third party. I do not favor a third party. My preference is to get traditional Americans elected to serve. I have had a bellyful of self-serving career politicians feeding at the taxpayer's trough. 

 

The time has long passed when we should have term limits on Senators and Representatives. We don't need the Pelosis and McConnells running our country. Imagine if you will, how different things would be if our elected representatives could not solicit "campaign funds"? Big money buys legislation by buying elected politicians. No career politicians means no political "war chests". Hopefully that would lead to putting the country first. Does anyone really think our Founding Fathers ever thought we would devolve to this?

 

We no doubt have become two countries. And those two countries have nothing in common anymore. Northern California is attempting to form a separate state because they have nothing in common with the state of California. That state will be known as Jefferson. Don't snicker and think it can't happen, because it can. Is this what we want? I hope not. 

 

I'm old enough to remember when our two-party system worked. We had the party in power and we had the loyal opposition. They worked together for the good of the country. Wow, what a novel concept. Wouldn't it be great if we could return to that time. The direction in which we are headed is a dead end. Truly the concept is, and always has been, united we stand, divided we fall. 

 

Let's resolve to stand together or else we will truly fall.

JOIN THE HERD

Both my wife and I have had our first Covid shot. Our second shots will be later this month. We have some friends and relatives who are not going to get the shots. That, for a certainty, is their choice. I have some thoughts about that choice that I would like to share. 

 

Some folks say that getting the vaccine is a crapshoot. Ok, let's say that. Is running around without getting the vaccine and dealing with this ugly little virus completely unprotected any less of a crapshoot?

 

The most common reasons being given is that they don't trust the vaccine, the government, or the "science", as well as thinking the actual disease is just not as devastating as advertised. In many ways I can understand this thinking, but why gamble?

 

I have also been amazed by the way this virus has become so political. Let's face it, the Democrats used it as a weapon against Trump and quite successfully. It is also a stretch of one's imagination to believe the numbers being offered by our own government regarding those hospitalized, and those who have died because of this virus. Who knows what the truth really is? Who can you believe?

 

The next thing I find astounding is the way in which politicians have become dictators and even stranger to me is the fact that normal American citizens have allowed it. I believe many politicians will be looking for legitimate work very soon.  

 

Here is the next big question. Why is it that states like California and New York restrict so many of their citizens and their businesses in order to control and contain this virus? Does anybody really think that is working out for them? Florida, on the other hand, is basically open for business with no perceptible increase in infection because of that opening. I live in Georgia and our businesses are open and so are our schools. We regularly go out to restaurants to eat. Very few are closed to inside dining.

 

When we go to the store, we see people wearing their masks. But, we often see people who flat out refuse to wear a mask. What keeps California and New York from reopening? Politicians maybe? Just a thought.

 

Do you remember last February and March? We were told to just be patient. We must "flatten the curve". Hmmm, how'd that work out. Then we were told to trust the science. Another hmmm. How do we know what is science and what is propaganda? Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? It does me. It's been a year now and the curve still hasn't flattened.

 

Humans and other animals develop immunities to various maladies by just being around those maladies. If one lived in a germ free bubble, they could never go outside of that bubble. When white Europeans arrived on this shore back in the 1700s, they caused the death of many, many Indians who had no immunity to all the new germs. 

 

We today have "herd immunity" to many diseases that would otherwise kill us. That immunity has come from exposure, not from hiding under a rock.

 

In the meantime get your shot if it becomes available to you. It is the best gamble we have. Join the herd.

AND SO IT BEGINS

And so it begins. I indicated that I would report on the efforts to trash our country by the new administration. Biden has already, by executive order, basically wiped out thousands of jobs and businesses. He stopped the Keystone Pipeline for some imaginary climate warming threat. That is a minimum of 11,000 jobs, not to mention all the businesses that support those workers. He has put an end to oil drilling on Federal land. These two acts alone serve to wipe out our energy independence as well as thousands of jobs. These two actions were a gift to the environmentalists. All of this is so we can adopt a new "green" agenda. I have this simple question to those who voted for Biden. Is the destruction of our economy what you had in mind when you voted for this clown? Is any of this a surprise? 

 

Next on his list is apparently immigration reform. Now I don't really know what that means. To reform something means to change it. We all know there are millions of people living in our country from all over the world who are here illegally. Biden has said he intends to make them all legal with a stroke of the pen. Reform then must mean making criminal acts legal so we won't have any crime. Sounds a little squirrely to me. I am certain he intends them all to be Democrats also.

 

In addition to creating all these new "citizens", he also is relaxing the rules of our border. In a matter of days millions more will invade this land of milk and honey where money grows on trees and the government takes care of you. And, they will bring with them diseases, including corona virus, and many others with which we have successfully dealt with vaccines and modern medicine. These invaders will be unknown, unskilled, unvetted, uneducated, and ready to sign up for the many benefits previously reserved and paid for by American citizens. We have borders for a reason. If we don't enforce our border, we cease to be a country. 

 

Gender equality has also caught the attention of the Biden Administration. It appears transgendered girls/boys want to compete in athletics with biological girls and boys. It is obvious that a biologically male will beat a biological female in a foot race in most cases. If that same male claims to be transgendered, under Biden's new edict, he/she can race on a biological girls’ team thereby giving the boy/girl a big advantage. Of course the showers would have to be open to all race participants also. What could possibly go wrong in that set up?

 

I am sure that I have just scratched the surface of what Biden and his lefty associates intend. How long will it last? I honestly cannot say. But I do believe in the very near future enough people will be so fed up that this socialist experiment will come crashing down. Even the long-standing media arm of the Democrat party, the New York Times, has suggested Biden is going overboard with "executive orders" and should have Congress enact laws. 

 

Obviously elections have consequences. The consequence of this election should not be the total destruction of our way of living however.

 

President Biden, this is America and we are a republic, not a monarchy. Laws are enacted and passed by the Congress. You obviously know that you cannot get your agenda through the legitimate branches of government so you have decided to just order as a monarch would. It ain't gonna work.
