As we have discussed so many times before, there seems to be a condition in Washington that cannot be denied. That condition is commonly known as "Trump derangement syndrome."
As we look for reasons the FBI and the Attorney General found it necessary to invade Trump's private home with a squad of armed agents, perhaps that syndrome could be in play. They had to know that their act would inflame millions of Trump supporters as well as many others across the country. Or could it be that they actually thought Trump was a bad guy who would betray his country? They can't be that stupid, can they?
Some have opined that this ill-fated raid was because of the January 6th madness. I have tried to watch some of that hearing but have come away with the feeling that these are just a bunch of Trump haters looking for ways to defame him and reduce his value as a candidate in 2024. They seem to want to make you believe that Trump is a crook who would turn on America anytime. Absolute nonsense. You may remember that Rhino Liz Cheney was a co-chair on the committee trying to convince the American public of their opinion that Trump was dirty. Did you see what happened to her as she ran for re-election to the House? She was trounced by almost 40 points. She may even believe what she is trying to sell us, but her opinion appears to be in the minority. Oh, and now that she was politically destroyed in her home state, she may decide to run for President. As she said, anything to keep Trump out of the White House. Hmmm, that might just ensure that he would take the White House. Imagine a candidate for President who cannot carry her home state. Like I said, hmmm.
Could it be the condition we have previously discussed, and that is just pure fear of Trump and his popularity? And could it be that Washington and the "mainstream" media are once again misreading America's preferences for their leaders. You may remember that Trump got 46 million votes in the last election. How many do you suppose he would get now that we have all seen what Biden and the Democrats do with the power of leadership?
I would like to make my position clear. I was not a Trump supporter originally. But he clearly accomplished more in his term than anyone in my memory and that was while he was under almost constant attack from the people whose gravy train he was derailing. Can you imagine what he might have gotten done if he was left alone?
So now, what to think about Trump in 2024? It's an interesting question. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind of his ability to govern. But, would he face the same harassment again? That is an easy answer. Of course he would. The difference this time is that he would probably have a friendly Congress and there is the very real possibility many of his previous detractors would be facing criminal charges. Some might even think twice before they attempt to lie to the American people like they did before. They might be trading in their business suits for orange coveralls. That would be fun.
The question was, could it be? I think the answer is yes. Could Trump run again? Yes. Could he win? Yes. Ron Desantis would probably be on the ticket. I would vote for them, wouldn't you?
