THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION JUST DOESN'T GET IT

Not a lot amazes me anymore but a 21-year-old National Guardsman with a top secret clearance issued by our government amazes me. When I was in the Army I had a secret clearance but top secret was reserved for top Pentagon brass and high ranking government officials. The highest clearance for low ranking individuals like me was a secret clearance.  My job was radio/teletype operator and in that capacity I dealt with sensitive messages on troop movement and other logistics. To qualify for secret clearance required a total vetting by the government. They went to my hometown and interviewed former teachers, neighbors, church people, and anyone they felt necessary to know everything about me. It was very serious business. How this kid in the National Guard got a top secret clearance is a mystery to me. The resulting mess he caused will probably fix the problem. 

 

The Biden Administration is promoting a bill that would guarantee transexual women the right to compete in regular women's sporting activities. I've said before and I'll say it again, they must be tone deaf. Many states have already passed laws against this unfair nonsense. 

 

Speaking of Joe Biden, he is soon to announce whether he is running for reelection in 2024. The whole world is holding its collective breath waiting for this historic announcement. Wait a minute, I lied. Most of us could care less. The people who are really nervous and should be, are the Democrats. They know he can’t win. The next thing they know is that they don’t have anybody else. Regardless of who is our next President, they are going to have a tremendous mess to clean up. Inflation is still rampant, crime is everywhere, and while the Biden Administration should be dealing with that, they are instead publicly worrying about climate change. But I’m not worried about the Democrats’ problem. The Republicans have issues of their own.

 

In spite of every dirty trick the Democrats have tried to pull, Donald Trump remains at the top of the polls for most Republicans. Personally, I loved what Trump did as President. If he were still President, I believe Putin would have never attacked Ukraine. China would be dealing with their own mess instead of trying to take over the world. Our military would be stronger. Our economy would be greater and we would be energy independent. And so you ask, what’s wrong with electing Trump again? The problem comes in the fact of the chaos his presence in the White House causes. The liberal media and the so-called progressives are scared to death of him and will do anything and everything to disrupt his Presidency. That being said, if he gets the nomination, I will vote for him. He will need a landslide to not only win but also to send a message to his detractors to back off and to stop trying to interfere with his work. The media needs to think more about what's good for the country and less about their personal prejudices.

 

There is no doubt that our country is in a mess. It’s easy to see why. Why this country chose Joe Biden over Donald Trump is not only weird but it has made us the laughing stock of the world. We have a chance to fix it but it’s not going to be fixed by putting another Democrat in office. They just don’t get it.

A THIRD GENERATION???

For the most part I try to stay away from religious matters on this blog. Once in a while I can’t help myself. Your religion or lack of it is your business. But since this is my blog, I intend to express some of my religion.

 

I believe that God created Adam and Eve, two different genders. He told them to be fruitful and multiply. That means go make babies. The design of human male and female bodies is ideally suited for that purpose. Nowhere in any of my research can I find another gender. There can be hermaphrodites but they are accidents of nature and very rare. A hermaphrodite is an animal born with male and female genitalia. For many years I was in the hog business and have seen thousands of hogs. I encountered maybe two or three hermaphrodite pigs.

 

So now, woke individuals want me to believe that there are more than two genders, and that third gender is “trans.” 

 

State Legislatures are trying to deal with this issue. There are many issues to consider. Female transexuals want to compete in female sport activities which is obviously unfair. Several international sports governing bodies have ruled to keep transexual females out of the games. Schools and public buildings are having difficulty in deciding what bathrooms to use. Sport teams have to decide who showers where. And this is all because some individuals are unhappy with their birth gender and want to live the life of the opposite gender. 

 

Solving this is really quite simple. Quit pandering to special interests. If a guy wants to use the bathroom marked for women and my wife or daughter are in there, it could get really quite ugly for him. He would be happy to use a proper bathroom in the future.

 

If you are unhappy with your birth gender, too bad. Suck it up and be who you are, not what you wished you were. Oh, and if you find any other transexuals in the animal kingdom, let me know.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME Hmmm

Some years ago an Indian Chief was addressing his tribal elders. He was attempting to explain daylight saving time to these grizzled old Indians. He said that white people are the only ones he knows that can cut a foot off a blanket and sew it to the other end and think he has a longer blanket. Now as silly as that sounds, it kind of makes sense. The people that favor the time change prefer to have more daylight in the evening for partying and shopping for adults while leaving their children in the cold dark morning waiting for a school bus. Sounds pretty sad doesn’t it. 

 

Every year when this matter comes up, it creates discussion. The politicians choose sides based on what they think would be politically correct. And then there are us, the great unwashed. I never favored changing the clocks anyway.

 

Some of you may remember a piece I wrote concerning time. Time has always been, but measuring time is a human invention. In the animal kingdom dinner time happens when hunger meets opportunity. Bedtime occurs when tiredness meets a snug den and you wake up to start your day when the sun hits you in the eyes. Humans set their alarm clocks in order to interrupt a peaceful night sleep because…..it’s time to go to work. We invented the alarm clock for just such an event. The clock serves two purposes, one to tell us what time it is and number two, to shatter us into consciousness when it’s time to get up.

 

When we were primarily an agrarian culture, plant and animals controlled our lives. When it was time to plant, we did and then when it was time to reap, we did without any help from a clock. A lot of our time rules, i.e. work time, bed time, meal time, etc, were started during this period. Now we live in the city. We buy our vegetables and eggs at the grocery store and they are available year round. 

 

If I were given my choice, I would leave time alone and not change anything. And I think many of the people who think like me would agree to leave time alone.

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE

Have you heard of the book “Mein Kampf”? It was written by Adolph Hitler during one of his prison stays. I have not read it completely myself as Adolph Hitler’s writings have never appealed to me. But it is pretty obvious Joe Biden has.

 

In the book he makes his philosophy clear. Tell a lie and tell it often and before long people begin to accept it as the truth. 

 

You may remember the State of the Union address where Joe Biden brought back the lie of lies that the Republicans wanted to sunset (bring to an end) Medicare and Social Security. So egregious was the lie that during the speech Members of Congress screamed out “liar.” Even that bastion of liberal nonsense, The New York Times, agreed it was a lie. 

 

In keeping with Adolph Hitler’s admonition, Biden continued the lie several times after the speech. Aside from being a liar, he also appears to be tone deaf.

 

The question that I have is what good does this lie do for Joe Biden or the Democrats? Here’s a reality. Joe Biden will not be the Democratic candidate for President in 2024. I don’t know who they will pick, but it ain’t going to be Joe Biden. There are a lot of possibilities like Kelsey Gabbert or even some unknown. Regardless, it is going to be a strong uphill battle and I don’t envy the task before them. 

 

The question is, why does Biden feel that he has to lie to the American people? Is the truth so in opposition to his agenda? If so, maybe he should change his agenda. There are some truths here that need to be clarified. First, the Republican Party has no intention of sunsetting either Social Security or Medicare. Both of these programs are basically untouchable. The Democrats aren’t going to either. It would be political suicide.

 

We are probably going to hear a lot of lies before the next election. But this is a truth, Biden is too old for the job and mentally incompetent. So my advice is just hang on and find the truth where it lies. The Democrats aren’t going to be fooled either.

DRINKING WINE THROUGH A STRAW

To bring you up to date, I was put in the hospital around the first of January with a diagnosis of congestive heart failure with complications. One of those complications was fluid retention. I entered the hospital at 362lbs and began losing weight. Six weeks later I weighed 250lbs. An effective way to lose weight but not recommended. I finally got home from the hospital two days ago. While in the hospital I laid in my bed and stared at the ceiling and the walls interrupted occasionally by gorgeous nurses drawing blood and taking vital signs. And now I am home and away from that.

 

So here I am laying in bed at home with no gorgeous nurses but instead have the best nurse of all. I was awakened the next morning by hugs and kisses and smiles. I never had that at the hospital. That was as close to heaven as I thought I would come in this life time.

 

And now to the theme of this writing. When you are in the hospital for six weeks your routine changes. For several years I have enjoyed one martini every day. So, on my first evening home my wife prepared a plate of cheeses and right in the middle of it is a martini with a straw. Wow I thought. Is this heaven or what? So I anxiously picked up the martini, took a sip and almost gagged. It was the worse tasting thing I have had in my mouth in years. We concluded that my taste buds have been truly messed with over the past few weeks. So, martinis are going to have to wait until I get back to my normal self. In the meantime, no martinis and no wine with a straw.

 

Regarding my nurse. Most of you know that my nurse is my beautiful wife, Linda. I always thought she was a gift from God but never more than now. If you have someone in your life who might be called upon to take care of you as I have needed, thank God for them. Whether that might be a wife or husband or child is not important. Thank God for them in your life.

I'VE READ THE BOOK AND I KNOW HOW IT ENDS

War has been declared on religion in general and on Christianity specifically. The left wing progressive liberal movement has decided that they prefer to worship the god of big government. Along with them are the radical environmentalists. They have attempted to advance the Godless and arrogant theory of man-caused global warming with the idea that man is in charge of nature instead the other way around with man being subject to the laws of nature. One would think if you are hugging a tree, you would realize that man cannot, and has never been able to, create a tree. Just a thought.

 

As a rule I have tried to stay away from religious matters in my columns. I have always believed that one’s religion is very private and personal and should remain that way. That having been said, and since we are in one of the most holy seasons of the year for Christians, something needs to be said about Christmas in the face of this war. As for me and my house, Christmas is the “Mass of Christ.” While we have a joyous time with the tree, the presents, and the great music, in the final analysis Christmas is a celebration of the birth of the Christ child. We never forget that and encourage you to do the same.

 

In a recent poll, some 67% of those polled proclaim Christianity as their religion. Christians don’t deny anybody else whatever religion they choose. In fact Christians even tolerate those with no religion, the atheists. Christians are not at war with anybody. All we have ever asked is that non-Christians tolerate our beliefs as well. Whether you choose to celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday or a secular holiday, that is your choice. Please have the grace to tolerate our choice of celebration.

 

I believe I know the truth. I further believe that someday we all will know the truth. If you would rather hug a tree or even a politician as your religion, that’s okay with me. Just leave me and mine alone to our choice as to whom we will hug.

 

A short time ago I had the very good fortune of visiting with a gentleman who was a retired preacher and a sufferer of terminal heart disease. Some of you might remember him from the web. He was Tommie Joiner or, as he was known to his blog readers, Bo Lumpkin. He knew his time on this earth was short. In fact I learned just today that he had died last month.  I asked him then how he was dealing with his condition and the fact that he may soon die? His answer was both simple and profound. He said, “In many ways I’m looking forward to it because I have read the Book and I know how it ends.” Well I too have read the Book and I also know how it ends. I recommend the Book for your reading. There is a great deal of comfort in knowing how it will all end.

 

I hope as you look forward to Christmas that you will find comfort and peace. Comfort and peace in the knowledge that we are not alone and that a force much greater than mere man is in control.

 

I will leave you with this quote which was recently sent to me. “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.” That pretty much says it all.

WE CAN REBUILD BUT WE HAVE TO GET TO WORK

We had our chance and we blew it. Now we have to put up with Biden and his liberal lefties for a few more years. Having the House at least puts Pelosi out to pasture. A strong united Republican majority in the House will also make Biden's agenda a bit more difficult. A way to make it even more difficult will be when impeachment articles are presented. When it is proven that Biden took bribes from sworn enemies of America, even Democrats will have a hard time defending him. Those investigations must begin immediately. This country has waited long enough. 

 

Just based on the info on the "laptop", that should be enough for indictments of many high up in Biden's Administration as well as Biden himself. Republicans were not returned to power in the House for any other reason than to clean house. Now they need to get to it.

 

We have another election on the horizon and I fully expect to see major changes in the majorities. It is looking more and more like Biden is trying to talk himself into running for another term. Being 82 myself, I can tell you unequivocally that he is too old for the office of President. I believe if he does decide to run again, he will lose dramatically. That should embarrass the Democrats to a point that they take their collective heads out of the sand and pay attention to what the American people want and expect from their leadership. It is pretty obvious we aren't getting it now. 

 

The elephant in the room is, of course, Trump. Personally, I believe he was one of our greatest Presidents of modern time. But, and this is a big but, too many people with too much money and too much power will do anything in their power to prevent his being elected again. The simple reason is that he won't play their games and that makes him a threat to their agenda.

 

The Republicans have a valid answer. He is Ron DeSantis. He is an attractive conservative who is loved by the citizens of Florida. He's young, smart, and a military veteran. I do not believe the Democrats have a competitor for DeSantis. The Governor of California is dreaming if he thinks he's the man. He is lucky to have survived a recent recall election. It is truly hard for me to believe that a majority of Americans want to turn our country into California. 

 

For our very survival we must put adults back in charge. We must re-activate our fossil fuel industry, and we must make sure the world knows we are back. Putin and his ilk need to get out of their neighbor's countries and just fix their own. 

 

It took Biden less than two years to destroy most of what Trump built. We can rebuild but we have to get to work.
