ELECTION 2024

Okay, now we can really get ready for the election. DeSantis has decided to give it a go. Most experts will say that Trump has the nomination sewed up. What do you think?

 

 I think the left in this country will do anything to keep Trump out of the White House. Look at what they already have tried. Criminal charges, unlawful searches, embarrassing revelations of past affairs, true or not, and more on the way. They doubtless will try the same for DeSantis. These dirty tricks have less to do with truth and more to do with slander for political reasons. Why do they work so hard to defame Republican candidates? I think one reason is their lack of confidence in Democrat candidates. Let's face it, Biden is a zero and they know it. 

 

If this election is between Biden and Trump, who will you pick? I believe Trump was one of our more effective presidents in modern time, but he was under the gun from every left wing dingbat in Washington. If he is elected again it will only be worse. Why would the lefties leave him alone?

 

Many believe the last election was stolen from Trump. If that is so, why wouldn't it happen again?

 

I’m going to change the subject of this rant to another rant. As of this writing our extremely overrated Congress are playing dangerous and silly games with our economy, and the world’s economy for that matter. They are trying to make political brownie points with our debt limit ceiling vote. Here’s the problem, the money has already been spent. You didn’t spend it, I didn’t spend it, the Congress spent it. Now they are holding America and the rest of the world hostage while they try to get their faces on TV. It is all so totally unnecessary. You and I know they are not going to let this country go into default. Because if they did, they would be chased out of Washington with sticks. Let your congressman know that we have had enough of their silly games. They made the mess, now they need to clean it up without making it worse. The bill that is pending is a two-year reprieve. Then, of course, we have to go through this crap again. 

 

Back to the original subject. I just heard former Governor Christie of New Jersey is also running for the Republican presidential nomination. That only leaves me as the last Republican who hasn’t declared, and I am not a candidate. 

 

Election 2024 promises to be a very messy affair. Hopefully, and with God’s help, we can put a sane, patriotic Republican in the White House.

UNFORCED ERRORS

The term "unforced error" is used a lot in sports, especially tennis. Loosely defined it is a mistake made by someone who should know better. Often those mistakes are left to others to fix.

 

What's this got to do with what is happening in the world today, you ask? Well I'll tell you. On Biden's first official day in office, he committed his first of many unforced errors. With a stroke of his pen he set in motion one of the worst inflation periods this country has ever experienced. He basically declared war on the fossil fuel industry. Anybody with half a brain knows this country cannot exist without a liberal supply of fossil fuel. Biden, apparently bowing to the so-called progressive wing of his party, made this first unforced error.  Now the Federal Reserve is busily trying to unscrew Biden’s screw-up. I heard the chairman of the Federal Reserve say that the only way to get inflation under control is to raise interest rates. Trump was asked at a recent town hall what he would do to bring down inflation. His answer was clear, "Drill, baby, drill." Now there are a lot of people who are smarter than me, but I believe that is the answer. I don't see how raising the cost of everything with interest rate hikes, brings prices down. Maybe I needed a few more years of economics training.

 

Ever since Biden has been in office he seems determined to destroy everything Trump established. With his war on fossil fuel we are no longer energy independent. Obviously we need the fossil fuel. This then makes us beholding to countries who are not friendly to us. So now we are energy dependent.

 

Everything we have, whether it be food, clothing, or materials, is delivered to us using fossil fuels. Without doubt, if we survive as a human race, alternative fuels will be in our future but they’re not here now. 

 

Another unforced error is Biden’s handling of our southern border. There are more people trespassing across our border than we can imagine. They are bringing their poverty, their diseases, and their illegal drugs with them. Most of our southwest border cities are overwhelmed. Our hospital emergency rooms, our schools, our food kitchens, are inundated with non-citizens. We have to get a handle on this. This country can’t sustain the ongoing invasion of people from all over the world. We also cannot go into foreign countries trying to improve their standard of living so that their people will want to stay home.

 

I want to close this with this thought. Attention Democrats, everything that Trump did was not bad. In fact, most of it was very good. You decided to inflict Joe Biden on us and now we all see what that has caused. We have to end these errors, unforced or otherwise. We need competence in government and we need to get rid of Biden and his gang.

THE BIGOTRY OF LOW EXPECTATIONS

Having been born in East Tennessee, I have a southern accent. It is not as bad as it used to be, but it is still there. When I was a young adult, I moved to California. It became quickly apparent to me that I had to clean up my redneck accent. I felt it would hold me back in any job or business I tried. I watched the anchors on TV and tried to speak like them. It worked to a degree. 

 

Recently, on a road trip across Georgia, I saw a sign on a cattle ranch. It said, "You don't need teef to eat our beef." Cute, but probably offensive to many in the south who have southern accents. Many people associate the southern accent with ignorance. Nothing could be further from the truth. The first people that settled our country spoke with the same southern accent. I know of many people with northern accents who are morons. Remember when LBJ first became President? He sounded like he just fell off a turnip truck. I am truly surprised that the country accepted it as long as they did.

 

The reason I’m bringing all this up is that a high-ranking education official in California wants to change that state’s grading system. He doesn’t believe any student should fail regardless of their test answers. They should be graded on effort rather than results. Another part of this idiotic philosophy is he does not believe certain students should be required to learn or speak standard English. The obvious victims of this nonsense are minority kids. He seems to believe that ebonics is the legitimate language of black people.

 

So what could this lead to? Young black people will apply for jobs unable to speak or write proper English. The disadvantage is obvious. President George W Bush often talked about the soft bigotry of low expectations. It’s still bigotry, it’s still bias, and it still has the same result as hard core, overt prejudice.

 

I have often wondered how people like this California educator get into positions that allow them to affect policies of a state. He obviously hasn’t thought this through.

 

More and more every day we are seeing the need of parental involvement in schools. As parents, we are responsible for raising our children, not some school board sitting in an ivory tower somewhere. The future of our country is in the hands of our offspring. If and what that future holds will depend entirely on the preparation of our children to take over. Right now, I don’t feel so good about it.

THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION JUST DOESN'T GET IT

Not a lot amazes me anymore but a 21-year-old National Guardsman with a top secret clearance issued by our government amazes me. When I was in the Army I had a secret clearance but top secret was reserved for top Pentagon brass and high ranking government officials. The highest clearance for low ranking individuals like me was a secret clearance.  My job was radio/teletype operator and in that capacity I dealt with sensitive messages on troop movement and other logistics. To qualify for secret clearance required a total vetting by the government. They went to my hometown and interviewed former teachers, neighbors, church people, and anyone they felt necessary to know everything about me. It was very serious business. How this kid in the National Guard got a top secret clearance is a mystery to me. The resulting mess he caused will probably fix the problem. 

 

The Biden Administration is promoting a bill that would guarantee transexual women the right to compete in regular women's sporting activities. I've said before and I'll say it again, they must be tone deaf. Many states have already passed laws against this unfair nonsense. 

 

Speaking of Joe Biden, he is soon to announce whether he is running for reelection in 2024. The whole world is holding its collective breath waiting for this historic announcement. Wait a minute, I lied. Most of us could care less. The people who are really nervous and should be, are the Democrats. They know he can’t win. The next thing they know is that they don’t have anybody else. Regardless of who is our next President, they are going to have a tremendous mess to clean up. Inflation is still rampant, crime is everywhere, and while the Biden Administration should be dealing with that, they are instead publicly worrying about climate change. But I’m not worried about the Democrats’ problem. The Republicans have issues of their own.

 

In spite of every dirty trick the Democrats have tried to pull, Donald Trump remains at the top of the polls for most Republicans. Personally, I loved what Trump did as President. If he were still President, I believe Putin would have never attacked Ukraine. China would be dealing with their own mess instead of trying to take over the world. Our military would be stronger. Our economy would be greater and we would be energy independent. And so you ask, what’s wrong with electing Trump again? The problem comes in the fact of the chaos his presence in the White House causes. The liberal media and the so-called progressives are scared to death of him and will do anything and everything to disrupt his Presidency. That being said, if he gets the nomination, I will vote for him. He will need a landslide to not only win but also to send a message to his detractors to back off and to stop trying to interfere with his work. The media needs to think more about what's good for the country and less about their personal prejudices.

 

There is no doubt that our country is in a mess. It’s easy to see why. Why this country chose Joe Biden over Donald Trump is not only weird but it has made us the laughing stock of the world. We have a chance to fix it but it’s not going to be fixed by putting another Democrat in office. They just don’t get it.

A THIRD GENERATION???

For the most part I try to stay away from religious matters on this blog. Once in a while I can’t help myself. Your religion or lack of it is your business. But since this is my blog, I intend to express some of my religion.

 

I believe that God created Adam and Eve, two different genders. He told them to be fruitful and multiply. That means go make babies. The design of human male and female bodies is ideally suited for that purpose. Nowhere in any of my research can I find another gender. There can be hermaphrodites but they are accidents of nature and very rare. A hermaphrodite is an animal born with male and female genitalia. For many years I was in the hog business and have seen thousands of hogs. I encountered maybe two or three hermaphrodite pigs.

 

So now, woke individuals want me to believe that there are more than two genders, and that third gender is “trans.” 

 

State Legislatures are trying to deal with this issue. There are many issues to consider. Female transexuals want to compete in female sport activities which is obviously unfair. Several international sports governing bodies have ruled to keep transexual females out of the games. Schools and public buildings are having difficulty in deciding what bathrooms to use. Sport teams have to decide who showers where. And this is all because some individuals are unhappy with their birth gender and want to live the life of the opposite gender. 

 

Solving this is really quite simple. Quit pandering to special interests. If a guy wants to use the bathroom marked for women and my wife or daughter are in there, it could get really quite ugly for him. He would be happy to use a proper bathroom in the future.

 

If you are unhappy with your birth gender, too bad. Suck it up and be who you are, not what you wished you were. Oh, and if you find any other transexuals in the animal kingdom, let me know.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME Hmmm

Some years ago an Indian Chief was addressing his tribal elders. He was attempting to explain daylight saving time to these grizzled old Indians. He said that white people are the only ones he knows that can cut a foot off a blanket and sew it to the other end and think he has a longer blanket. Now as silly as that sounds, it kind of makes sense. The people that favor the time change prefer to have more daylight in the evening for partying and shopping for adults while leaving their children in the cold dark morning waiting for a school bus. Sounds pretty sad doesn’t it. 

 

Every year when this matter comes up, it creates discussion. The politicians choose sides based on what they think would be politically correct. And then there are us, the great unwashed. I never favored changing the clocks anyway.

 

Some of you may remember a piece I wrote concerning time. Time has always been, but measuring time is a human invention. In the animal kingdom dinner time happens when hunger meets opportunity. Bedtime occurs when tiredness meets a snug den and you wake up to start your day when the sun hits you in the eyes. Humans set their alarm clocks in order to interrupt a peaceful night sleep because…..it’s time to go to work. We invented the alarm clock for just such an event. The clock serves two purposes, one to tell us what time it is and number two, to shatter us into consciousness when it’s time to get up.

 

When we were primarily an agrarian culture, plant and animals controlled our lives. When it was time to plant, we did and then when it was time to reap, we did without any help from a clock. A lot of our time rules, i.e. work time, bed time, meal time, etc, were started during this period. Now we live in the city. We buy our vegetables and eggs at the grocery store and they are available year round. 

 

If I were given my choice, I would leave time alone and not change anything. And I think many of the people who think like me would agree to leave time alone.

LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE

Have you heard of the book “Mein Kampf”? It was written by Adolph Hitler during one of his prison stays. I have not read it completely myself as Adolph Hitler’s writings have never appealed to me. But it is pretty obvious Joe Biden has.

 

In the book he makes his philosophy clear. Tell a lie and tell it often and before long people begin to accept it as the truth. 

 

You may remember the State of the Union address where Joe Biden brought back the lie of lies that the Republicans wanted to sunset (bring to an end) Medicare and Social Security. So egregious was the lie that during the speech Members of Congress screamed out “liar.” Even that bastion of liberal nonsense, The New York Times, agreed it was a lie. 

 

In keeping with Adolph Hitler’s admonition, Biden continued the lie several times after the speech. Aside from being a liar, he also appears to be tone deaf.

 

The question that I have is what good does this lie do for Joe Biden or the Democrats? Here’s a reality. Joe Biden will not be the Democratic candidate for President in 2024. I don’t know who they will pick, but it ain’t going to be Joe Biden. There are a lot of possibilities like Kelsey Gabbert or even some unknown. Regardless, it is going to be a strong uphill battle and I don’t envy the task before them. 

 

The question is, why does Biden feel that he has to lie to the American people? Is the truth so in opposition to his agenda? If so, maybe he should change his agenda. There are some truths here that need to be clarified. First, the Republican Party has no intention of sunsetting either Social Security or Medicare. Both of these programs are basically untouchable. The Democrats aren’t going to either. It would be political suicide.

 

We are probably going to hear a lot of lies before the next election. But this is a truth, Biden is too old for the job and mentally incompetent. So my advice is just hang on and find the truth where it lies. The Democrats aren’t going to be fooled either.
