PUT YOUR PARACHUTE AWAY

Back in my younger days when I was in the Army, I used to get hops on military aircraft. I could go to any military air base and sign up to travel free of charge to wherever a plane was going. If you had a particular place in mind you just had to sign up and wait for a flight going to that place. In many cases the aircraft were high ranking officer’s planes. I often traveled on a General’s plane. 

Now needless to say, there weren’t any cute flight attendants on board or any safety speech about what to do if we crashed into the water, etc. We were told however, that the way to know if the plane was in any trouble, was to watch the highest ranking officer and when he put his parachute on, it was time to panic. Military airplanes were equipped with parachutes for all passengers the way your fishing boat has life preservers. 

Fortunately I never had to don my parachute although there were some scary flights.

I bring this up because of what is happening in this country with the Mickey Mouse impeachment nonsense going on in the Congress. You will notice ever since this all started, the stock market has exploded. New records are set almost daily. What this should tell everybody is that the stock market doesn’t much care one way or another about the silly attempt to remove Trump from the Presidency. The traders know what everyone else should know and that is Trump will not be removed from office by this bunch of lefties who seem hell-bent on making it happen. The real likelihood is not only will he survive this attempted coup but will probably be re-elected in 2020 by a landslide. This is kinda like the time to panic is when the General puts on his parachute or when the stock market gets nervous. Until then, it’s mostly just a colossal waste of time and money.

There are thirty-one Democrat Congressmen who were elected in districts that Trump carried easily. It just might be time for them to get nervous or even panic. They are now going to be forced by all of this to put their careers on the line and vote for a situation they know is a giant nothingburger and may well cost them their job. Every single one of them who votes to impeach this President should be sent packing period, and probably will be. I almost feel sorry for them.

Nancy Pelosi lost control of the House when she started listening to the left-wing media as they tried to shine love lights on Ocasio-Cortez. Her biggest failure was to understand that this country is a right-of-center moderate-thinking people who will never accept or endorse socialism. The Democrats may never regain their previous status in the politics of America. And that’s okay with me. 

Now Christmas is upon us. I intend to take this special time to reflect on the true meaning of this season. I am not going to let a few socialists destroy my holiday. It is not time to put on our parachutes. It is instead a time to enjoy the flight. To enjoy family and friends. To dig in to the food of the season. Maybe even an occasional adult beverage. In a few days, if the House even passes this crap, the Senate will put it all to rest and the leftist coup will have failed again.
