IT TAKES A GUN TO STOP A GUN

In every state we have traffic laws. We have speed limits. We have drinking while driving laws. These laws are designed to protect us while we are out on the road. We have these protections and still every day dozens of people are killed and injured by speeders, drunks, and all sorts of traffic mishaps. Does this mean that our laws are insufficient? Does this mean these laws don’t really protect us? Or does this possibly mean that some people just don’t obey laws?

Did you know that in the case of this latest mass shooting in El Paso, it was illegal to bring any guns into the mall where twenty-two innocent people were gunned down and dozens of others were injured? Do you think the evil piece of human waste who perpetrated that crime cared one bit about the law? It has even been reported that this slimeball bought his gun legally. Do you think that if he couldn’t legally buy a gun that he wouldn’t get one anyway? 

As a nation, we need to wake up. Feel-good legislation is just that. When an evil individual has an evil intention, he will find a way, unless he is stopped.

Today thousands of people are screaming to their lawmakers to do something. Pass new laws. Stop the violence. Make all this ugliness go away. Help us feel better. Suspend the Second Amendment. Arrest people for their evil thoughts before they commit any crimes. Never mind what the Constitution says. We need to be protected. 

Well, we might just as well pass laws against lightning. We all know of people who obey the laws. They never speed or drink and drive. In every regard they are model citizens and still, they are victims of senseless crime, or tragic traffic accidents. Things happen. And they rarely happen on our schedule.

Some say there are just too many guns. I, on the other hand espouse a different belief. What if I told you rather than too many guns, I said there are too few guns? What if, in the El Paso situation, some legal gun owner standing nearby pulled out his own weapon and blew the head off the shooter when he started shooting?  

What if, rather than a sign indicating that mall was a gun free zone, it said instead, our good citizens who shop here are probably armed and skilled at stopping crime. Do you think the perpetrator might have looked elsewhere for victims? 

If you saw the video of the shooting in Dayton, Ohio, you saw police advancing immediately on the scene with their guns blazing. The killer was dead in seconds. It has been suggested that had this clown gotten inside the bar, dozens of innocent people would have been killed or wounded. Simply stated, it takes a gun to stop a gun.

Usually it takes longer for the police to arrive. They don’t normally prevent crimes, they clean up after the crime has been committed. 

Most of the citizens of this great country are law abiding people. Most, I am sure, would prefer the police take care of crime. But sometimes one’s choices are few and we have to act.

Personally, I am a military veteran who has received extensive training in firearms of all sorts. I also have a license to carry concealed weapons. It is my hope and my belief that if I were ever in the unlikely situation of being confronted by an active shooter, that should I not survive, I would be found with an empty gun in my hand because I would have emptied it on the shooter.

WE ARE CITIZENS, NOT SUBJECTS

I can see it now. In many parts of the country Democrats are gathering together looking at each other in amazement, wondering what are we going to do. They have seen the same debates you and I have seen. The smart ones are wondering, is this the best we have? 

I’m sure there are also Democrats sitting in their easy chairs thinking, I could beat any one of those people who are already running. I should probably get into this race. 

Still others are looking over the landscape to try and come up with an alternative candidate knowing that those already running are going to lose big time in 2020. I even heard the name Michelle Obama being thrown about. I’m serious, they’re not kidding. They are desperate. 

Joe Biden continues to be their front runner and that’s okay with the Republicans. You see, the Republicans have the goods on Biden and are keeping their powder dry unless and until he gets the nomination. Then the gloves come off and all hell breaks loose. 

Let’s face it. The Democrat party is in total disarray and I don’t care. They have brought this all on themselves. They have this so-called base which is far, far left represented by Elizabeth Warren and Ocasio-Cortez and the like. Then there is the supposed moderate wing represented by Biden et al. During the debates they continue to take shots at each other creating great ads for the Trump re-election committee. We call it a circular firing squad. 

Here’s a fact. None of the nonsense being spouted by the Democrats today is ever going to become law in this country. True Americans will never allow it.

So, out of fairness, this one time I am going to give, free of charge, the Democrat party the information they need in order to have a chance in 2020.  Now I know it’s not my job but I feel it is only fair to help where I can. 

The steps are simple. First, Democrat Presidential contenders, pick up a copy of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Read and study those documents. Pay particular attention to the parts about freedom of speech and the right to keep and bear arms. Study intently those parts about personal responsibility and self- reliance. See if you can find anything in there regarding free medical care or free college educations. I looked at my copy and I couldn’t find anything about those particular subjects.

Then there’s that sticky border issue. Try as I may, I couldn’t find anything about getting rid of our borders and giving people from all over the world free access to this country. Maybe my copy of these documents has been rewritten. I don’t think so. 

There is just one other document which Democrats may find helpful. It is called “The Declaration of Independence.” This interesting little document came about when we decided that we had had enough interference and high taxation from a country across the ocean from us. We decided that we would create a country of our own, with enforceable borders. We told this King in our declaration that we were free people and that we were guaranteed by our Creator life, liberty, and the right to pursue happiness in any way we, as a free people, chose. That was our declaration. Well, needless to say, that King was unhappy with us but he got over it. It took losing a couple of wars to do it, but he got over it.

You see Democrats. I hope this lesson is not lost on you. We free people don’t take too well to government interference in our lives. Never have, never will. We are individually self-reliant and responsible. And most importantly, we are citizens, not subjects. 

There you have it. No charge.

THIS WAS NOTHING LESS THAN A COUP

Okay, I didn’t see a lot of the Mueller Congressional Hearing, but I saw and heard enough. It was truly pitiful. His performance has been analyzed to death already, so I will spare you any more comment on Mr. Mueller. If you saw any of it, you know what I mean. My comments instead will be about the whole issue of the attempted overthrow of our freely elected government and the voter’s choice of President. 

It is now clear that a few wildly misguided Trump hating, Hillary loving bureaucrats working in the Justice Dept. and other Federal agencies decided that Hillary had to win and if she didn’t they would find a way to subvert the system, get rid of President Trump and somehow install Hillary as President. I have no idea how they intended to accomplish that, but it appears that was their goal. They had what they called an “insurance policy.” It is becoming more and more obvious exactly what that insurance policy was. 

First, they planted spies in the Trump campaign. Then they hired a former British spy to create a phony dossier accusing Trump of every imaginable sin and wrongdoing. This dossier was paid for with money from Hillary’s campaign, laundered through some law firm and delivered to Fusion GPS, an organization whose job it is to find dirt on one’s opponents. They developed phony meetings with questionable so-called Russians to create the appearance of collusion. And of course, they leaked everything they had to a willing media who dutifully published it without verification. I guess they thought this was surely enough to get rid of the President, but it wasn’t.

So they went to the FISA Court with lies and manufactured documents. The warrants issued by that court were illegally obtained and should therefore be deemed invalid. The FISA Judges who “rubber stamped” the request for warrants should be summarily fired from the bench. That would be step one. 

Step two would be to identify who “they” are. The question had been asked, “How high up the ladder will this conspiracy go?” I don’t know, but the smart money says all the way to Obama and Hillary for sure. There are just too many co- conspirators to name, but some are too obvious. Comey, Clapper, and Brennan for sure. They were ably assisted by a bevy of Hillary supporters from the Justice Dept. and the FBI. It now turns out that some of these same Hillary supporters were appointed to serve on the investigative team charged with the creation and the writing of the “Mueller” Report. 

What then should step three be? I believe there should be a line up for the tailor to fit a bunch of people with orange jumpsuits. The attempted overthrow of the government is a serious crime with serious consequences. This isn’t political dirty tricks. This was a coup designed to oust a freely and fairly elected President and then to subsequently install the loser of that election in the office she failed to win legitimately.  It goes against everything our country stands for. The American people demand justice. We demand an accounting for the crimes committed against us. If the offenders get away with this, what’s to stop them in the future? 

We elect our Presidents, they are not installed by bureaucrats who make our decision for us. 

And to the Democrats who seem hell bent on usurping the will of the American people, your continued affiliation with the conspirators who tried to overthrow this government identify you as co-conspirators. That is not a place you really want to be. You should be ashamed of yourselves. 

We, the people, are going to patiently wait for the reports coming from those charged with investigating the investigators, US Attorney John Durham and Inspector General Michael Horowitz. I am confident we will then see indictments and arrests, and on some very big names. When justice has been levied out to those, the 2020 election should take care of the rest.

IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN

By now everybody has heard the Democrat’s platform for the coming Presidential Election. When you brush all the colorful language out of it, their message is clear. America is not good enough for us anymore and must be changed. Personal responsibility can’t be tolerated. Free enterprise is so yesterday. Working and earning your living just doesn’t cut it anymore. Free choice of your medical care is just not possible and somebody else should have to pay for it. Oh, and that Constitution you think so highly of, well it has to be rewritten and updated to include today’s issues. And those ugly borders that surround America have to be disposed of. They are just keeping too many people out who want to live here and participate in the good fortune we have all enjoyed for so many years. 

Paying for this new America is not a problem. We are just going to take all the money we need away from those people who have worked all their lives to earn it. Not only will we take their incomes, we will also confiscate their wealth. If they own vast acreage where they produce food for the rest of us, we will just take it away and break up their enterprise and share it with all those who haven’t been so fortunate. America has just had it too good for too long and we Democrats are going to fix that.

What the Democrats are proposing for this country is totally changing our way of life. Totally changing our form of government. Instituting socialism as the replacement for capitalism. 

They are not kidding. They are serious. And the real problem is that some of them actually believe in what they are selling. Even more frightening is that some citizens in this country would vote for this crap.

I hope you’re as unimpressed as I am by this nonsense. I intend to take this opportunity to tell you and any Democrat who might happen upon this writing, the real truth. 

As President Trump recently announced, “America will never be a socialist country.” Socialism hasn’t worked in Europe, or Venezuela, Cuba, or anywhere it has been tried for obvious reasons. For socialism to even be instituted, there must first be the confiscation of all guns. An armed citizenry would never allow socialism. Well, no one is going to get my guns and I’m pretty sure I am not alone in my thinking. 

I stand on the authority of the Second Amendment to our Constitution. Gun confiscation is never going to happen. That amendment guarantees to you and to me the absolute right to bear arms. The amendment was originally written to guarantee citizens the right to protect themselves from all evils including their own government. Our Founding Fathers escaped from governments who didn’t allow free thinking or free expression. The idea that one could use weaponry to protect themselves from an oppressive government was essential to the formulation of a new government.

You may remember the infamous Japanese Admiral, Isoroku Yamamoto, who is credited with the statement back in WWII that an attack on America was impossible because there was a gun behind every blade of grass. Well it was true then and it is even truer today because the gun numbers have dramatically increased. Are you paying attention Democrats? Your master plan to take over this country with socialism ain’t gonna happen.

In the final analysis America doesn’t need to be fundamentally changed. What we need is a rededication to the principles that created this great country. We need politicians to quit pandering to get votes. Quit raiding the treasury of this country to fund giveaways. We, the people, are self-reliant, freedom loving citizens of the greatest country on earth and we are not going to give it away. Are you listening Democrats? It ain’t gonna happen.

AIDING AND ABETTING

Have you ever heard the expression “aiding and abetting?” One usually hears it associated with criminal acts. If you watch cop shows on TV you will hear it a lot. You’ll see a person lying about hiding a fugitive in their house. Or possibly providing funds to help someone escape punishment or arrest. Of course, aiding and abetting a criminal is also a crime. Regardless of the crime, the aider/abettor can be arrested as an accessory after the fact to the crime itself.

I bring this up because of an event that just made the news. It has been reported that ICE will start gathering up convicted criminals right away. The criminals they are after are illegal aliens who have been adjudicated by a court already and ordered deported. They have refused to leave. They are now fugitives from justice. 

Well guess what? Some individuals on the left have apparently decided that this is not a particularly heinous crime so they should aid and abet these criminals in their escape from justice. There’s a problem here. We don’t get to decide what laws we should obey, regardless of who we are. When we assist a criminal and help him escape the law, we are just as guilty of the crime as are they.

That includes every official in every so-called “sanctuary city” or “sanctuary state” in existence today. But it also includes such luminaries as Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and that darling of the left, Hillary Clinton. Pelosi, on the floor of the House of Representatives, issued instructions to would-be arrestees on how to escape arrest. She advised that if the ICE officer doesn’t have a warrant signed by a judge, they don’t even have to open the door or answer any questions. In other words, she was teaching fugitives from justice how to continue to escape justice. Pelosi, the law maker, was instructing criminals in the art of law breaking. 

Hillary Clinton tweeted out instructions, in Spanish, directed to these criminals on how to beat the system. What both of these women are saying is that if you don’t like a particular law, it is perfectly okay to violate it. And we will even offer you instructions. We will aid and abet your escape from justice because we are powerful and above the law. So, now both of these women are just as guilty of the crime as the original criminal, and they should be arrested. 

Where is law enforcement? Where are the local police? If Nancy Pelosi doesn’t think violation of a deportation order by a judge is a criminal offense, then she should use her position as a law maker to pass a new law making it legal. In the meantime, she and Hillary should be arrested and face a judge for their violation of law. 

Here is a fact. We are either a country with borders, enforceable borders, or we are not. Here is another fact. We absolutely cannot feed and house every person in the world who wants to come to America. Can you imagine what would happen if the Democrats got their wish and removed any border enforcement? We would be invaded by tens of millions of people from all over the world. In a matter of days we would be out of food and housing for everybody. 

One of my regular readers calls the Dems dims. He is definitely onto something. If they cannot see what their stupidity would cause they have to be dim, dimwitted.

In my several years on this earth I have learned one inescapable truth. There is a price to be paid for excess. We have laws so that we will have order. We have enforcement because some refuse to obey laws. We have penal institutions to punish, not necessarily to rehabilitate. If and when we aid or abet criminal acts, we contribute to lawlessness.

WHAT IS AMERICA TODAY?

What is America today? For most of my life I have seen this country as a bright city on a hill. Are we still that bright city? I am actually embarrassed by the way some Americans are now.

Consider the Congress. It is one thing to have political differences but it is entirely another to be so disrespectful and hateful. Attention Rep. Ocasio-Cortez. Do this country a favor. Just shut up. Every time you open your mouth you show the world how really ignorant you are. How about opening a history book and learn what concentration camps really were. You obviously don’t have a clue.

How about the national media? What they call news now isn’t news at all. It is instead agenda driven biased opinion. They have lost any credibility they ever had and are now a laughing stock. Attention media. I don’t care what you think. I don’t care what you think I should think. Just report facts and I’ll decide what I think about it without your help.

Next you have an entire industry willing to allow their hatred to destroy their once successful enterprise. I’m talking about the so-called entertainment industry.  I and many others like me wouldn’t pay a dime for a ticket to anything they have a part in. They have decided to alienate over half of the American public and show us who they really are. DeNiro, I wouldn’t waste a penny supporting anything you had a part in. You have every right to your opinion regardless of how vile it may be, but your public spoutings of obscenities are another thing. It must make your mother very proud. Shame on you. 

Watching television is becoming more and more difficult. There is no way I would ever watch any of the main channels for news. News doesn’t exist anymore. One can’t even watch the National Geographic channel without being fed a continuous load of propaganda about “global warming.” 

Commercials have always been tiresome, but lately they are getting worse. The advertisement producers might think they are showing inclusion with their choice of actors and situations, but in fact they are actually creating exclusion. They are excluding me and those who think like me. I don’t have to like it and I certainly don’t have to buy their products or watch their shows.

I see myself as a traditional American. I believe in the America of my youth. Granted some of the things that happened in the past were bad, but most were good. Boys played on boy’s teams and girls played on girl’s teams. There was never any confusion over which bathroom to use. When people broke the law, they were usually punished. Drugs were illegal, no nuance. Today when an individual is arrested for some heinous crime, it is not unusual to find they have a long, long record of crimes and convictions. Instead of committing new crimes they should have still been in prison for their previous crimes. Imagine how much the crime rate would be reduced if criminals were required to actually serve serious time for serious crime. 

Finally Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has called for the termination of the head of the Border Patrol because of the mess at the border. Excuse me. You mean the mess that you caused? You mean the mess that AOC refused to vote money to fix? You have to be totally tone deaf. You caused this problem and you refuse to try in any way to fix it. You all are an embarrassment to the entire country and it is my fervent hope that you are repaid for your stupidity and sent packing next November. Maybe you and your liberal allies can find work cleaning up the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Another mess you caused.

Will America ever return to be the “city on the hill?”  For the sake of my children and grandchildren, I hope so. It is going to be up to us, all of us.

THE DEMOCRAT DEBATES?

I tried to watch the Democrat debates. I couldn’t do it. It would be one thing if any one of them had a single workable new idea, but alas, it was just more of the same socialist crap they have been spewing for a few years now. Even on the rare occasion when a questioner would ask a legitimate question, the answers didn’t match the question. And there was no follow up to the unanswered questions. When you consider who put this debate on, it is certainly understandable that the questions were lame.

I came away from these events with this simple question. Is this the best the Democrats have to offer? Are they saying that all across this great country, these candidates are the best they have? That is indeed sad.

The media has been playing the winner, loser game. Who did the best? Who had the best showing? Who won? Who lost? Well, I have been paying attention to the post-debate conversation by the media.  Not to be outdone by the talking heads with the pretty hair, I have made some observations myself.

My losers were easy to spot. They were Biden and Bernie. Both of these aging politicians were ill suited and ill prepared for these debates. That is not to say however that the others did any better. It is only to say the others were prettier, which should play well to their base who seem to be more concerned with appearance than substance.

Consider this group. We have a homosexual guy who is married to another homosexual guy and he is not even the man in the marriage. He’s the wife? This ought to play very well with a tiny minority of the far left Democrat base who see this as normal behavior. How do you think the rest of the world would view this relationship? Then there is the candidate who could not even win a Senate seat in his home state, a black former prosecutor playing the race and victim card, some assorted Governors and government employees who seem bored with their jobs, a pretend American Indian, and a big city Mayor who couldn’t win reelection as Mayor. If I were a Democrat, which thank the Lord I am not, I would be embarrassed.

Lest you think Trump is going to have an easy time next November, I would caution you. The fact that this bunch of candidates could even be considered for the highest office in the land is concerning. Most of them have a constituency. There are voters out there who would seriously vote for some of them. 

Ever since Donald Trump announced that he would run for President in the last election, he has been under attack. Since his election both he and his supporters have been relentlessly defamed and attacked as well. Did you hear what former President Carter just said? He believes Trump didn’t actually win the election but was instead installed in office by the Russians. His senility is showing. The only reason he was not the worst President in history is because the voters elected Barack Obama.  We need to go on offense. We have been on the defense too long.  

We start by demanding prosecution of all the individuals who conspired to overthrow this government both before Trump’s inauguration and since. Hillary Clinton, and all her cohorts should face a Grand Jury. The clowns running the CIA and the FBI as well as the Justice Dept. should all be doing a perp walk and fitted with orange jumpsuits. They all need to be so busy defending their sorry acts that they have no time to appear on CNN or MSNBC attacking Trump or his Administration. And we, all of the deplorables, the great unwashed, need to stay on this offensive. We are basically two Supreme Court Justices away from saving this country. This is not the time to give up the ship. 

Debate that, Democrats.
